Despite these hurdles, air travel apps on the iOS platform in Europe maintained a steady course. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers insights into how the top five air travel apps performed in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Ryanair, the budget airline hailing from Ireland, showed a consistent pattern in its app's performance. Downloads saw a gradual decrease from 28K in late September to around 18K towards the end of December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at approximately 265K and tapering to just over 217K by year's end.

Meanwhile, Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker from Sweden observed a slight fluctuation in revenue, with a peak of $47K in late September and a dip to $29K in late November, before climbing back up to $37K at the end of December. The app's downloads and weekly active users experienced a dip in November but rebounded in December, concluding the quarter with around 23K downloads and 254K active users.

Wizz Air - Book Flights presented a different scenario, with no revenue reported for the quarter. However, downloads for the app showed resilience, starting at roughly 12K in September and ending the quarter with about 9K in December. Active users of the app mirrored this stability, with a slight decrease from 94K to 81K over the same period.

The easyJet: Travel App from the United Kingdom also reported no revenue for the quarter. Download numbers for easyJet's app decreased from 14K to around 10K by the quarter's end, with weekly active users seeing a similar trend, starting at 228K and dropping to 182K.

Turkish Airlines: Book Flights rounded out the list, with no revenue to report. The app's downloads remained fairly consistent, hovering around 7K to 9K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline from 34K in late September to 29K by the close of December.
